Irregular Heartbeat Care and Treatment

Heart arrhythmia, including irregular heartbeat and heart palpitations, is a group of conditions in which heart activity is faster or slower than normal.

The Arrhythmia Center helps provide answers for patients with heart rhythm symptoms. Physicians and staff stay in close and frequent communication with patients' referring physicians to help provide accurate tracking of symptoms, necessary treatments, and medications and/or dosages.

With care provided by a highly specialized team of physicians, (electrophysiologists, cardiologists, and cardiac surgeons) on the medical staff and dedicated to the treatment of arrhythmias, the Arrhythmia Center's primary goal is to determine the most appropriate treatment option for a patient with arrhythmia symptoms. This may include medication, non-invasive testing, or catheter-based/surgical procedures.

The Arrhythmia Center offers:

  • Comprehensive evaluation, with diagnostic imaging services on site for patient convenience
  • Development of treatment plan(s) based on a multidisciplinary approach to care
  • Coordination of intensive pre-operative work-ups before complex ablation procedures, including catheter-based or surgically based atrial fibrillation ablation

Diagnostic methods include electrocardiograms, echocardiograms, stress tests, ambulatory telemetry monitors (Holter and event), CT scanning, and cardiac MRI.
